It is with humble acceptance of God's will that we announce the passing of Dr. Francis Wahome Karweru, on 3rd August 2026. He was the beloved son of the late Wilson Karweru and Esther Watetu. Son-in-law of Stephen Wambugu and Teresia Wambugu. A loving husband of Annah Wairimu Wahome. Cherished father of Natalie, Gabriella, Daniella and Nathaniel. He was a dear brother of Wambui, Wangeci, Wangui, Mathenge, Gilbert, Muchemi, Wangari, JP Mathenge, Wachira, Githinji, Gitonga, Theuri, Karungari, Nyambura, Muthoni, and Dr. Francis Wahome many others; brother-in-law of Jackie, Carol and Robert. A beloved uncle of Lena, Maureen, Marion, Sylvia, Lynette, Victor, Morris, Hadassah, Dennis, Zuri, Myles, Adrien and many others. Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St. Andrews Old Church, 1.00pm to 2:30pm on Monday 10th August 2026. The Funeral Service will be held at the family's rural home in Karia, Giakanja, on 12th August 2026, commencing at 11:00 a.m. (12 August 2026) May His Soul Rest in Eternal Peace.
Charles Gitonga Kinyungu
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Charles Gitonga Kinyungu, which occurred on Thursday, 30 July 2026. He was the Chief Technologist at the University of Nairobi, Chiromo Campus. He was the son of the late Cyrus Kinyungu Nginga and the late Miriam Njeri. He was the beloved husband of Elder Lucy Muthoni Gitonga of PCEA Church of the Torch, Kimuri Thogoto, and former Headteacher of Kikuyu Township Primary School. He was the loving father of Moses Kinyungu and Diana Wamuyu, Miriam Njeri and Peter Njagi. He was a loving brother of the late Patrick Nginga, the late Bernard Ndungu, Bernice Mwihaki, Nancy Muthoni, Justus Wachira, the late Joseph Gikonyo, Linus Wahome, and Margaret Wangeci. He was the beloved son-in-law of Laurenzia Thaara and the cherished grandfather of Adrian Gitonga, Amy Muthoni, and many other grandchildren whose lives he touched with his love, wisdom, and kindness. Family members and friends are meeting daily at the family home in Kidfarmaco, Kikuyu, at 4:00 p.m. for prayers and funeral arrangements. The body will leave Nyeri Outspan Mortuary on Friday, 7 August 2026, at 9:00a.m., after which the funeral service and burial will take place at Huhoini Girls Secondary School, Ichagachiru, Tetu, Nyeri. She was the beloved wife of the late Simon Muraya Gukura She was a loving mother of Rose Kirigo, Newton Gukura, Alice Wamuyu, Peter Theuri, James Murage, Chris Nderitu, Grace Wanjiru, Lucy Nyangari, and Nancy Wairimu. She was a loving mother-in-law of Susan Wamucii, Jane Theuri, Anita Nderitu, Everlene Ledava, Samuel Mbugua, Timothy Mwangi, Veronica and Harrison Kyalo. She was a cherished grandmother of Ann, Purity, Innocent, the late Sharon, Eric, Edwin, the late Wilson, Loyd, Shelmith, Michelle, Susan, Joel, Derrick, Christian, Jasmine, Leana, Jordan, Alex, Letishia, Nathan, Joseph, Malcolm, Louis, Myles, Tony, Fridah, Peace and Mark. She was also a proud great-grandmother of Melissa, Alicia, Kelvin, Tasha, Talia, Michael, Newton, and Nickson. She was the beloved daughter of the late Theuri Mwangi and the late Kirigo Theuri. She was a loving sister of the late John Nderitu Theuri, Mary Nyangari Ndurumo, Jackson Muriuki Theuri, and Teresia Njoki Wandaka, and a sister-in-law of the late Edward Murage Gukura, Mary Gathigia Murage, and Esther Wanja Muriuki. Family, relatives, friends, and well-wishers are meeting daily for prayers and funeral arrangements at Peter Theuri's home in Membley, Ruiru, and at the family home in Kiajogu. Shelmith will be laid to rest on Tuesday, 4th August 2026, at her home in Kiajogu Sub-location, Mathira Constituency, Nyeri County. Forever in our hearts. May her soul rest in eternal peace.

He previously worked with the Kenya Prisons and later served as an elder with The Full Gospel Churches of Kenya. Son of the late John Muhugu and Muthoni. Husband of Rose Muthoni. Father of John Githinji, Ann Njambi, James Mwangi, Regina Warukira, Lucy Wanja, Robert Kariuki, Paul Maina & Margaret Nyambura. Grandfather of Rose Nderitu, Brian, Joshua, Joy, Joseph, Ann, Rose Mukora, Winnie, Lillian, Kagure, Kagiri, Kageni, Shelmith, Shane, Hope, Elsie and Leo. Great Grandfather of Natalie. Father-in-law of Winrose, John Nderitu, John Kagiri, Richard Mwangi and Charity. Brother of Immaculate Wanja and the late Robert Kariuki. He was an uncle and friend to many. Prayers and meetings are being held daily at his home in Wamagana and at All Saints Cathedral on 31st July 2026 and 1st August 2026. The cortege will leave Outspan Funeral Home on 4th August 2026 at 8.00 am for a Funeral service at St.Angela Merici Wamagana Senior School and later burial at his home. Isabel Wanjira, Charity Nyangati, Senior Chief Joseph Muhoro (Ngorano Location). Catherine Waruguru (Kenafric Industries). James Nduhlu (USA). and Francis Muya (Kahira-ini Primary School). Mother-in-law of the late Anderson Macharia, Esther Wangul, the late David Kinyanjul, Joseph Wahome, Dickson Mary Wangui Gundi Kigango, Catherine Wanjugu, Ndikwe Gichangl. Jane Nduhlu, and Wangeci Muya. Grandmother and great grandmother to many. He was the loving husband of Pennina Wanjiku Warugu (Nyakati SACCO) and a devoted father of Hope Wambui, Mercy Muthoni, and Lee Joshua Njogu. He was a cherished brother of David Maina (Siakago), Charles Muiga (Chaka), Rev. Peter Machiira (Redeemed Church, Huruma). Margaret Wambura (Ichamara), Bernard Mwangi (Kahiga). Jane Muthoni (Kitui), Esther Wangui (Thika), and Pastor Paul Macharia (Kiganjo, Thika). He was also a beloved brother-in-law of the late Mr Njeru, George Mbugua (Principal, Mai Mahiu). Prayers and meetings will be held on Monday, 10th August 2026 at 5.00 p.m. at her home in Nyari Estate, Nairobi. There will be a Memorial Service at 2.00 p.m. on Tuesday. 11th August 2026, at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi. She will be laid to rest in Giathugu, Mukurwe-ini Constituency.
