She was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph Karanja Gikonyo and Elizabeth Nyaguthii Karanja, and a loving sister of the late Kennedy Gikonyo and David Murage. The funeral will take place on Friday, July 31,2026. The cortege will leave Montezuma Funeral Home (Kabati) at 8:00 am. for Glitwa village, Gaturi Location, Kiharu, Murang'a. The funeral service will be held at Githanga Primary School starting at 10:00a.m. Funeral preparation meetings are taking place daily at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi, starting at 5:00 p.m. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."— 2 Timothy 4:7"

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God's will that we announce the passing of Mr. Newman Munga Mbai, of the NG-CDF Board, Nairobi. He was the beloved husband of Esther Wangari. A loving father of Alvin Kariuki, Auriel Waithira, and Austin Mbai. He was the son of Mr. Christopher Munga Mbai and Consolata Waithira Munga. A brother of Livingstone Karanja, the late Eddy Ndong'o, and Brenda Wangari. Family and friends are meeting daily at the family home in Membley Estate, to offer prayers, comfort, and support to the family during this difficult time. A Requiem Mass will be held at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi, on Wednesday, 12th August 2026, at 2:00 p.m. The cortege will depart from KU Referral Funeral Home (Northern Bypass) on Thursday, 13th August 2026, at 8:00 a.m., for the final journey to the family farm in Samar, Maragua, Murang'a County, where the burial ceremony will take place. David Kenneth Kiarie Toro
It is with immense pain in our hearts that we announce the demise of David Kenneth Kiarie Toro on 03 Aug 2026 while undergoing treatment at Nairobi West Hospital. David was formerly of Standard Chartered Bank and served as Chairman of the Standard Chartered Pensioners Group. Son of the late Rev. Canon Hamuel Toro Kiarie and the late Josephine Njoki Toro. Beloved husband of the late Susan Waithera Kiarie and later to Rev. Elizabeth Wanjiru Kiarie. Father of Njoki and John Mwangi, Esther and Alex Kathuri, Millicent and Alex Mwega, Hamuel and Anima Toro, Dedan and Christine Mungai, Rev. Samuel and Elizabeth Munyiri and Collins Henya. Brother of the late Millicent & late Duncan Kamau, the late Rachel & late Willy Kaniaru, Janet Wairimu, Rev. Dr. Arthur and Jane Ndungu, Hon Eng. Joshua Toro & Leah Toro, the late Eng. Ibrahim and late Emily Kagiri, Jonathan and Winrose Nganga, Tabitha Wahu, Emily and Kangondu Kimwe and Benjamin and Elishfer Maina. David was an uncle and grandfather to many. Meetings are taking place at All Saints Cathedral at 5.30pm on Wednesday 5th, Thursday 6th, Friday 7th and final the meeting on Monday 10th August 2026. A Memorial Service will take place on Sunday 9th August 2026 at St. Paul's ACK South C Church at 3.00pm. Funeral Service will be at Mairungi Primary School on Wednesday 12th August 2026, Kariti village, Kagundu-ini Loc, Kandara Sub County, Muranga County from 10.00am. He was the son of the late Engineer James Mbera Macharia, and Philomena Wairimu Murugami. Step son of Violet Wairimu Mbera. Beloved brother of Brian Macharia Mbera, Mildred Njoki Mbera, Elton Mwangi Mbera, Dennis Macharia Mbera and Sydney Wahome Mbera. Brother in-law of Mary Wanjiku Macharia. She was daughter of the late Jesse Muthogo and the late Ruth Wanjiku of Nyakianga Village Mathioya, Murang'a County. She was the wife of the late David Mwangi Kamakia, mother of Edwin M. Kamakia and Elizabeth Wanjiku, Julius Jesse Kamau and Rose Waithira, Mary Wangui, Joseph Wakaba Kamakia and Pauline Muthoni. Sister of the late Josephine Wanjiru, Evan Gatimu Muthogo, the late Mary Wanjiku, Jane Wanjeri, the late Naftali Munyuku Muthogo and Susan Waithira. Grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, friend and mentor of many. Family and friends are meeting for funeral arrangement at Julius Jesse Kamau home at OJ-Ruiru and at her rural home Nyakianga Village from 4.00PM daily. The cortege leaves Kangema funeral home at 8.00AM on Friday 7th August 2026. Funeral service will be held at A.C.K St Stephen church, Njumbi the same day from 10.00 AM. Thereafter she will be laid to rest at her home in Nyakianga village, Njumbi Location, Mathioya Sub-county, Murang'a county.
