Alice Wairimu Kabaria (Mama Shiru)
It is with humble acceptance of God's will that we announce the passing of Alice Wairimu Kabaria, also known as Mama Shiru, who passed away on 30th July 2026 while receiving treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital. She was the daughter of Mary Nyambura and late Timothy Kabaria. A loving and devoted mother of Ms. Eunice Wanjiru Magu and Major Max Kamau Magu (KDF) and Susan Ghasio. Beloved sister of Ruth Njeri & Martin Mwai, Stephen Kamau & Monica Wamaitha and Francis Mburu & Purity Wairimu; adored grandmother of Nythan Gitau, Maleek Kamau and Alice Maleeka Wairimu; Cousin, aunt and friend to many. Alice (Mama Shiru) will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and the love she shared with her family, friends, and everyone whose lives she touched. Family, friends, and relatives are meeting for funeral arrangements and to support the family during this difficult time. The funeral ceremony will be on Wednesday 5th August 2026. It is with profound sorrow, yet humble acceptance of God's perfect will, that we announce the passing of Dr. John Sungwacha Nasila, who peacefully went to be with the Lord on Wednesday. 29th July 2026. Dr. Nasila was the beloved son of the late Joshua Wopicho Nasila and the late Rebecca Lubisia Nasila, and the son-in-law of the late Johnstone Nyongesa and Mama Susanna Lusike. He was the devoted and loving husband of Mama Loice Nyongesa Namulala. He was a cherished father of Prof. Mark Wopicho Nasila (S.A). Arch. Mutonyi Masinde Nasila (KE). Jason Biketi Nasila (S.A), and Japheth Wakhungu Nasila (SA). He was also a proud and loving grandfather of Nathan, Timothy, Heart, Grace, Benjamin, and Hannah (SA), and Renna (KE). He was a beloved father-in-law of Olwetu and Winnie. Dr. Nasila was a loving brother of the late Doreen, the late Isaac, the late Winfred Nangunda, Alice Nasila, the late Frederick Nasila, Sarah Nafula, George Wamuki, Kisongochi, Rombosia, Francis, Abraham, Zakayo, Amos, Ambrose, Zipporah, Wambani, Violet, Emily. Stella, Dorcus, Pauline, and Lydia. He was also a cherished cousin of Dismas Makhanu the late wyclief Muyekho, Robert Nasila and many others. He was a beloved brother-in-law of the late Margaret Naswa, Hon. Jonathan Namulala, the late Waliula, Eliud Wanjala, Peter Wangila, the late Twins, Nathan Khisa, the late Nekesa, the late Solomon Makokha, Vivian Nafula, the late Faith Khaindi, Sarah Khwaka, Geoffrey. Sarah, Carol Anna, Pauline, Jimmy. Norah, the late Robert Manyonge, Mayi Mary. Mayi Rose Wanyera and many others. He was a loving uncle to his many nephews and nieces, all of whom held a special place in his heart. The family also expresses heartfelt gratitude to God for the significant role played by Kuka James Matata, Kuka Professor Simiyu, and the late Kuka Wabule, together with their families, in mentoring and nurturing Dr. John Sungwacha Nasila throughout his life. The Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, 4th August 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at CITAM Valley Road, Nairobi. The burial service will take place on Friday in South Africa. Father in law of late Hesbon Thiong'o, Samuel Marima, Mercy Wangari, Mary Wanjiru, Ruth Njeri (KINAP), Wanjiru, Virginia Wambura and Gacoki. Brother of late Njue Kathia, late Samuel Kimotho, late Joseph Ngundo and late Margaret Wambura. He was a loving grandfather of Jane Wandia (Membley Park Focus Academy), Wanjiru, Wanjiku, Njeri, Kagure (Nairobi University), Njiraini Marima, Oscar (TARDA), Wachira, Thoronjo, Susan Wangui (USA), Jayson, Faith, Nimmo, Terry Muringo (USA), Macharia, Nyawira (DUBAI), Stephen Njiraini (Prisons), Kennedy (EGYPRO), Grace (MKU), Wachira Kinyua, Macharia Ngari, Muringo, Wachira Ngari, Muthoni (Nairobi University), Murimii, Eric (Mukiria TTI), Mark, John, Jernice, Bernice, Humphrey, Kariuki, Tom juma and many grand-grand children. He was a cherished uncle, relatives and friend to many. Family and friends are meeting daily at his home, Karia, Kirigu Village for prayer and funeral arrangements. The cortege will leave Catholic Mary Immaculate Funeral Home on 4th August, 2026 at 9.00 A.M for the funeral service at his home in Karia, where he will be laid to rest.
